The use of light cables to modify the behaviour of fish in the mouth of demersal trawls

Experimental fishing trials with fibre optic light lines on the leading edge of a separator panel have been carried out. The results show that the light lines used in this position can influence the behaviour of a number of species during the night, however, the effect is small so far and probably not so useful from a commercial point of view.
