    Stoked to have been part of some rad science. As the sole seabirder on the trip I can vouch that marine mammal scientists are wonderfully mad.

    Earlier this month, researchers from , and fitted 10 grey seals from the Inishkea Islands with GPS tracking technology, as part of a study on seal-fishery interactions. This map shows how far these incredible animals have travelled!

    et al show that variation in foraging distance reduces parent-offspring conflict in Manx shearwaters. Out now in Animal Behaviour.

    In case you've ever wondered how big the nets are for catching and tagging seals, suffice to say this photo only shows about half the length. It's...immense.
