DiscardLess Strategies for the gradual elimination of discards in European fisheries

Diagnosis of the inventory of the generated unavoidable unwanted catch

Identification and analysis of current and expected supplies of unavoidable, unwanted catches (UUC) once the landing obligation has been implemented. The analysis includes a review of historical discards data, on which has been identified where and when UUC's might be landed in the future. The available facilities at selected landing harbours have been identified, together with existing equipment that can deal with expected changes in supply. Safety and quality criteria's specifically relevant for UUC's are also addressed.
